I am rebooting with a different poshmark because i cannot bulk edit hundreds of listings. probably will do very little on mercari. i had 3200 books listed and made 100-200 a month before the change. my clothing will be on ebay posh and depop. depop is good, don't sleep on it.

This is trash i was selling a customized product and buyer didn't enter the customization i tried to contact him and he never answered so i had to refund him and they put me if it were out of stock next time i will sejd the product without the customization so trash.

Question do you know why Im getting charged an insertion fee on items Im that I already listed? I got like 50 insertion fees!

I would lean towards they repackaged it in a much smaller box or stuck multiple items in the same box to save on their costs of overseas shipping, just had this happen with a buyer saying they were missing parts.

So they are using Ebay to replace their crappy stuff for free because they know Ebay usually sides with the customer. I did see another seller that says that if anyone asks for a refund and he knows what he sent out was in good working order and what they are going to try to send back is likely something different he will tell them if you return the item I sent you and it matches exactly what I sent you including the bar code or serial number (he takes a pic of the serial number and bar code for his listings) then I will issue you a refund when I get it back. It seems to make them think twice about sending back if they know that they are going to try to pull a fast one and scam. It may not always work but maybe sometimes it does and in the incident he was talking about it did. And I am seeing this scam more and more in videos too. Sellers say they get back a crappy or broken item or the item they get back is completely different from what they sent.

I have given up on ebay, the fraud is so systemic it is just a waste of time.

I was wondering why I had a buyer from Columbia with an address in Florida. His name was super long with numbers. It had too many spaces in the name so I took out a few unnecessary spaces and the label then printed. Fortunately the buyer got the item and left me positive feedback. The customer used the freight forwarder because eBay won’t ship to that country. Of course I’m just now putting 2 and 2 together. I probably dodged a bullet on that transaction.

I just got a negative from a freight forwarder. The person filed a return, but entered a false tracking no. and never returned the item. I won the case, but of course ebay would not remove the negative feedback. EBay sux

Justin Resells reported on one of his videos that he got a weird fee charged to him when he sent to a freight forwarder. Sounds like Ebay was penalizing him for the customer not using EIS. Have you ever seen a charge like that? I think the charge was under $3.

Not only freight forwarders, but freight aggregators. International freight is so expensive that aggregators will collect multiple different purchases over time and repackage them into one single shipment. The people that use these services must have confidence in this, in some cases its months before they'll get their stuff. No issues using this people, they're legit. I sold about a $1000 to a lady in the Philippines who used a Pilipino FF in Brooklyn, very happy with that sale. Only problem I've ever had was a customer provided the wrong address of a FF in Miami and the item was returned to me and once I got the address corrected I ate the shipping to send it back.

I beat a freight forwarded chargebsck, so there is always hope.

Jon I had the same issue with a freight forwarder years ago, it was the first negative feedback I got. I helped my mom auction some of my brother's star wars lego sets and a buyer in Singapore won one of the auctions. Instead of GSP he used a freight forwarder. My mom had checked every single piece, broke down the box, and put the instruction manuals in a bag. The buyer received the item about a month later and guess what, he messages me saying the instruction manuals are missing. My mom and I packed it together and definitely checked that we put everything in there. We also went back and looked around the room and it wasn't there. He didn't want a return or refund, just kept demanding for me to send the instruction manual even though I told him we already sent it in the box. But yeah I felt bad but I can't control how these companies repack the items. Some companies allow the buyer to request "light packaging" to save on the costs of international shipping so it could also arrive damaged if they do that. Yeah I also thought of seeing if I could buy just the manuals off ebay and dropshipping it to him (to his forwarder obviously), but he had already went ahead and left me a negative so I just moved on.

I get more views on mercari then on eBay.

ebay help and aid the criminals, they know they are criminals they don't care just as long as they get their cut, they would rather get their cut than a loss, they aid the criminals in what they do that's why the criminals still continue to scam people on ebay as ebay allows that type of criminal behaviour. It's all about ebay profits.

I received a negative a few months ago from a buyer who used a freight forwarder. Similar details to yours. The claim was, one of two items was missing. I spoke to someone in international shipping. Since the buyer was actually in Panama, I argued this was an international sale, and the negative should be removed. Within hours, it was gone. What also helped me, was the buyer leaving more negatives than positive ones. Many comments were either not received, damaged, junk, or missing pieces. Sad part is the scammer is still active on ebay, after a short pause.

Mercari is so disappointing. They could have been the next Ebay but unfortunately their CEO and top executives are terrible and don't have a clue. They do not care about actually improving the platform in a practical way. Their customer/seller service is terrible and might be worse than Ebay, but they are a much smaller company which makes no sense. They refuse to add practical bulk tools for large sellers, their shipping is way overpriced, they have way too many people selling fakes on their platform, they ban and close people's accounts without investigating if there is a legitimate problem, I could go on and on.

Tell me about it , make it difficult even if the post office loses an item .

Every site does imports except Mercari. I used a third party site but they started charging. Some months my Mercari sales beat eBay.

Right as Mercari started building steam they really burned their selves early this year when they change the way they charge the customer. Even as a seller, I have no interest using Mercari anymore. The time spent repricing items and paying for Vendoo did not make sense for how I’m doing my reselling at the moment, I was hoping they would go back to the way of charging the customer/seller. Maybe this shake up will put them on a better path. I prefer to have diversification in reselling platforms vs a monopolization.

I agree with the shipping choices. Mercari does not allow you to ship usps advantage for a item over 1lb. Now that usps is not shipping fedex economy anymore I changed all my listings to ups. I never got a message from them but my friend did that the usps will stop accepting the ups labels on 8/1. So I changed everything over 1 lb again. Took me over 8 hrs. Would be better if you could bulk edit listings as well.

my sales dropped about 20%-30% when they passed on the fees to the buyers.

Mercari has already made the change of showing the buyer the final price. I think they did this about a week ago.

Mercari has a media rate.. there's a lot less noise, I'm not competing with all the mega sellers on eBay...Laxvespa--LosAngeles ... might get a tad less but primarily I'm a media seller... across the few platforms... there are also things that I sell that are pretty much everything else... across multiple platforms... I also take lots of pictures... no stock images

mercari should stick to the online garage sale niche, grow slowly and consider getting into live sales.

Why bother making the description try to "sell" the item ex: "comfortable and easy to use pencil!" <--- they searched for that item, its not like amazon where I go on and shop for "ergonomical writing tools. They searched " standard led pencils. Why not put the extra keywords in the description with commas. The photo then the pricepoint and specs are what I base if I buy an item or not. It helps if the description mentions "smoke free enviroment" etc. But telling me how awesome something is isn't gonna make me buy it to try it. Are you just showing using this AI to generate the keywords and USE them in sentances to put in the description instead of just putting more keywords in the description?

Thanks for the information. I just blocked this buyer. As resellers, we need a way to let others know about con artists. You can't leave them negative feedback. If this person was a reseller, he/she should be ashamed of themselves. They know how hard reselling is without scammers. Thanks again dude.

Why don't ebay sellers mark all sold items with a uv marker? Easy to tell if you get the genuine item back then if you're uv signature is on it. Would also be totally invisible to the buyer, unless you know were and how to look for your unique mark

Multi quantity should be listed using the feature that 1 items ships for standard amount. Then you set up an amount to charge for each additional item. Such as 0.50. So she could have listed for $5 shipping and eBay would add additional .50 for each of the multiplies. So total would be $7. These are just made up numbers. So sellers are not setting up the listing correct. This way they don’t need to go through process of combing shipping.
